Salam SUCCESS.

Challenges of schools and universities in the 21st Century is getting harder, because a lot of the businesses and the industries as direct users of new graduates from universities ask, where does the advantage of a certain school or university lie? As the FACT for the school or university’s INABILITY in producing graduates who are ready to work or ready to enter the world of business and industries. Often the framework of those new graduates are also questioned, because they DO NOT UNDERSTAND anything when entering the workforce. Many complaints, such as this, HAVE been expressed in many developed countries that are known to have modern businesses and industries.
Recognizing this, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), consisting of 140,000 members from: supervisors, principals, teachers, lecturers (professors), and others from 134 countries in the world, and including more than 56 member organizations, undertook strategic measures to improve the curriculum, teaching and learning methods in order to be ABLE to adapt to the real-world needs all around the world.
ASCD (2004) then adopted a Design Thinking for Education which had been tested in PRACTICE; thus providing POSITIVE results. Then in 2011, ASCD published a good book as a guide in creating units of high-quality learning modules. The learning and teaching methods used were done using A-M-T (Acquisition, Meaning, Transfer) Learning Goals and Teaching Roles shown in the attached charts below.
If we pay attention to these AMT Learning Goals and Teaching Roles, then we will be able to estimate how low the quality (competence) of university graduates if the method of teaching in that school or university is NOT UPDATE, namely: ONLY do direct summaries from THEORETICAL textbooks and present those same summaries by just using PowerPoint. OUTDATED learning model like this is like learning to simply obtain a passing grade that is NOT competent (Learning for School). It DOES NOT produce graduates who are able to compete and have COMPETENCE when applying for jobs in the world of business and industries (Learning for Life).
Best Regards for SUCCESS.
